How do I join a short–term team?
First, complete the The Journey. Be sure to fill in the Short-Term section at the end. If you missed it earlier, you can complete it now.
Next, we will contact you to gather more information.
Once you are approved, a non-refundable $300 deposit will be due to reserve your spot. These funds will be applied to the cost for your team's training materials and orientation expenses.
You will then receive materials to help you raise your support, handle all immunization/passport/visa requirements, and otherwise get ready for your short-term experience.
What is orientation?
Prior to heading overseas, you and your teammates will participate in a three-day orientation, designed to prepare and train you for your cross–cultural experience.
The orientation's primary focuses are preparing you to honor people in Islamic cultures, and helping you to establish healthy team dynamics.
What is a debriefing?
When you return from overseas, a two-day debriefing will help you “unpack” and process your experiences.
You and your teammates will reflect on what you learned during your trip. You will also have time to consider your experiences in relation to your future as you follow Jesus.
The days for orientation and debriefing are included in the dates listed for each short-term team opportunity.
Is travel insurance provided?
Yes, travel insurance included in the team budget. Please contact us if you have specific questions regarding the insurance coverage.
