GAP Teams

“I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it…” (Ezekiel 22:30)

What are GAP Teams?

Fulfilling a role very much like the one God describes in Ezekiel 22:30, a GAP Team is a small community of believers (usually 4 to 6), sent for a relatively short (7-13 months) term of service to live out its faith in Christ among Muslims who do not know Jesus and have none of His followers in their midst.

Frontiers’ GAP teams are specially sent to enter an unreached region and “stand in the gap” while long-term teams are being mobilized. In doing so, they are laying a foundation of good works and taking part in shaping the destiny of Muslim communities.

Their members are ordinary people who believe God’s extraordinary promises.

Who Should Consider a GAP Team?

If you have a growing passion to see Christ honored among Muslim people and seek God’s confirmation of His calling in your life, contact a GAP representative.

GAP Team members can best be described as passionate for God’s glory, radically Biblical, grace-oriented, flexible, eager for coaching and enthusiastic about challenging work in tough places.

More than half of Frontiers’ GAP Team members have followed their GAP experience with a commitment to long-term field work.

What do GAP Teams Do?

In addition to relief and development work, GAP Teams engage their communities in other practical ways. Those have included ESL (English as a second language) education, health care training, water sanitation and women’s programs.

Alumni Testimonies

David, GAP alumni and future long-term worker with Frontiers

"Before I joined a GAP team, I had very little confidence in my abilities as a leader or my vision for life and work overseas.

After 12 months on the field, God gave me a new hope in Him and a new outlook on long-term service with Muslims. It's been a life-changing experience."
