2010 Member Care Symposium Presenters

You are encouraged to review the backgrounds of the Member Care experts who will be sharing from their training, experiences and hearts in general/plenary sessions, workshops and equipping programs. 

Note: Some of our presenters travel overseas to meet with Frontiers workers. For their protection, only their first names appear on our website.

Alan and Beth
Having lived in Asia and Europe for several years, Alan and Beth work with Frontiers Member Care Team.  Alan, an ordained pastor, currently serves a small church in Georgia. This couple loves to see people follow God with their all, and finds great joy in doing pastoral counseling together. 

Bob
As a Field Director for 60 Frontiers teams, Bob has seen the devastation of conflict on the field.   In response, he has made a commitment to live his life as a peacemaker.  Bob is eager to share some of the tools that have helped him in his own work on the field and with the teams he serves.

Rev. Bob Blincoe
In 1991, Bob and his team opened Frontiers’ work in Iraq. He has served as Director of Frontiers U.S. Sending Base since 2000.  Bob earned a degree in history from the University of Oregon and holds two masters degrees from Fuller Seminary. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister.

Bruce
As Frontiers’ Director of Member Care, Bruce draws from personal experience in the Muslim world to help field workers fulfill their calling.  Bruce joined our Member Care Team ten years ago, after serving three years in Kazakhstan.  He loves to do pastoral coaching with workers on the field.  Bruce and his wife are the parents of three children … all college students

Coleman and Sue Houser
Former Frontiers field workers, the Housers served in Central Asia for 13 years.  Coleman, a field prep coach at the U.S. Sending Base, presently helps to assess and prepare overseas workers. Sue serves as a trainer with the Spiritual Formation working group. They have a vision for member care on the field and are seeking the Lord’s timing to go.

Cookie
Formerly a church planter and Frontiers Team Leader's wife in 2 Central Asian countries, Cookie and her husband served as Team Leader Overseers for 14 years. With several years in training and leadership development, she is now Director of Equipping Coordination at our International Office, desiring to see individuals and teams become as effective as possible.

Dan and Jan
Members of our Member Care Pastoral Coaching Team since 2003, Dan and Jan previously served at Frontiers International Office for 8 years. Licensed for Cerny-Smith Cultural Assessments, they provide encouragement, prayer and debriefings for workers on furlough and at the Southeast Asia Regional Conference.
 
Dr. Rev. Dave Wilson
Having served as a mission pastor in a local church for 14 years, David has travelled to more than 85 countries.  He is currently the mission Pastor at Trinity Church in Redlands, CA and is leading his congregation to provide a comprehensive care strategy for their missionary families, which includes every member.

Rev. Don Thomason
In 1992, after two years on the staff of Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Don and his wife, Janet, joined Frontiers Member Care team.  He serves as a Pastoral Coach for field staff and as a member of our Candidate School faculty.  During the ‘70s and ‘80s, Don was a pastor in Southern California.

Jana
Our Pastoral Coach to Kids has been working with Third Culture Kids (TCKs) for over 10 years. God equipped her for this ministry through her education degree, 5 years of youth ministry, and many hours listening to third culture families. As a TCK Coach, she does child, teen and family debriefs, as well as field and transition coaching.

Jeff and Roxanne
This couple and their 3 children have worked with Muslims since 1988, serving on and leading church planting teams in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. Through wars, kidnapping, martyrdom and miracles, they have seen God’s glory displayed and fellowships of believers established. Since their arrest and deportation from Uzbekistan last summer, they now serve at Frontiers U.S. Sending Base.

Dr. Jerry Reddix
Recognized by many organizations for his clinical and pastoral expertise, Jerry has been doing consultations for Frontiers on child safety, critical incident debriefing and our selection process since 1994.  Along with visiting workers on the field, he provides direction to Member Care teams for our international and regional meetings.

Rev. Dr. John and Debbie Hervey
Pastoral Coaches with Frontiers’ Member Care Team, John and Debbie have worked cross-culturally since 1979 in places like Chile, Central Asia and the U.S.  Currently John is helping with the training and oversight of Frontiers’ field personnel.  Debbie is a Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM).

Rev. John Ramey
After 15 years of planting and pastoring churches, John was called to concentrate on missions.  Since 1990, he has ministered to teams and national leaders in 90 countries, primarily through Bible teaching, pastoral counseling and crisis intervention. John is President of Aslan Child Rescue Ministries and of The Olive Branch Institute.

Linda Parker
For 25 years, Linda has been a practitioner of marriage and family therapy.  She has also provided mental health counseling for missionaries and national Christians in places like France, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia and Hong Kong.  Linda currently leads the Long Term Missionary Care Team at Trinity Church in Redlands, California.

Nancy
A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Nancy has been providing Member Care for 6 years.  She is an Associate with Member Care International and works for Care Net, a Christian Ministry of Pregnancy Care Centers.  Nancy has a private counseling practice and teaches at a university.

Perry LaHaie
A singer, songwriter and guitarist, Perry uses his music and radio skills with Frontiers to call the emerging generation to abandon the American dream and go to the Muslim world.  His music is fueled by his passion to know Jesus more and to make Him known among all nations.  Perry has recorded 6 CDs of original tunes, including his latest release, Endless Fields.

Todd and Sally
For 14 years, Todd and Sally served as Frontiers’ church planters in Central Asia, where they gained special appreciation for the value of Member Care.  Sally, who grew up in Taiwan as a TCK, homeschooled their three children and taught at TCK schools in 2 countries.  After they were denied visas in 2006, Todd became Associate Director of the Member Care team at our U.S. Sending Base.

Tom
For more than 25 years, Tom and his wife have spent about half their time serving in field oversight and support roles and the other half in North Africa. The couple desires deeply that life and ministry flow from full dependence on the grace of God through Jesus Christ alone. They have 5 adult children and confess to being obnoxious grandparents.
